Hi there! I’m Ziza and this is my family.
All my pups have different coloring so it is everyone’s guess that daddy must’ve been a really handsome guy!
Me and my kids just want to be with our person wherever they are.
I am just an all around good dog.
I will let you know if I don’t think you are paying enough attention to me. I do have a voice!
My puppies are like me, quiet and love to play at times.
They are great with other dogs and love everyone.
I’m not sure who Charlie is…. But I know he and his friends saved my whole family.
The babies are old enough now that we’re about to travel to Maine! Wherever that is.
We can’t wait to meet our new families. I’m still available for adoption too.

aka our favorite time of year!
We’re thrilled to announce our third annual Halloween fundraiser, featuring the 2024 theme “Charlie’s Howl-O-Ween – Haunt of the High Seas”.

Bring your friends and family to enjoy food from the smoker and bake sale, while the little ones trick or treat or make their way through our spooky maze.
If you are in the mood for a scare, our haunted house will leave you TERRIFIED.
You can always try your luck with our many raffles or silent auction!
Event Details: 
What: Free trick-or-treating, a haunted house, a spooky maze for kids, raffle and silent auction, food, a bouncy house and more! 
When: Friday and Saturday, October 25th and 26th, from 4 PM-9 PM (haunted house open from 5 PM-9 PM) 
Where: Rescue Charlie’s Friends, 90 Road B, Woolwich, Maine 
Why: All proceeds go to transportation and medical care for rescued dogs. $5 entry fee for the haunted house, free trick-or-treating, and a bake sale!
Arthur &Aardvark
We are brother and sister and will be approx. seven months old.
We are around twenty – eight pounds and are Labrador Retriever mixes.

Spooky Halloween Crew
Momma Little Ann is a three year old Bulldog mix and weighs approx. 25 pounds. Her kids are the most adorable little pups.
The Little Women
These beautiful Pyrenees / Shepherd Mix puppies are fifteen weeks old and are coming to Maine soon!
They weigh approx. 20 pounds
These four sisters were found dumped on a property in AL and the family who owned the property connected these four cuties to our rescue partners.
We are very excited that they will be coming to Maine in July!
We expect that this litter will be large and will need a family committed to daily exercise and basic puppy training.
Get ready to be drawn in by these puppy dog eyes.
Amy is the first of our Little Women litter to be featured. She is very sweet but a little shy at first.
Amy loves to play and go for walks just like her siblings do.
Of course she also loves to cuddle.

Nala and Nellie – These beautiful girls are almost five months and weigh in at just around 10 lbs.
Bria and Blair – These girls just look like big dogs in small bodies!
These cuties are about five months old. Blair is only 15lbs while Bria is just 10lbs.
We’re not entirely sure what breeds make these sweeties who they are but it’s beautiful!

Bella Grace is estimated to be about 2.5 years old and weighs approx. Sixty pounds.

This sad face tells a story.
Bella Grace once had a loving home but her owner had some health issues that led to him not being able to take care of her anymore.
A home health aide found Bella and her babies malnourished in a closet in his home.
Luckily our southern partners took her in.
Bella Grace is so sweet and is not sure why she has lost her home.
She has some energy so would like a home that will give her time to play and to exercise.
Walks and running around the yard are her favorite things to do.
She is just a happy girl!
We would love to find her an amazing, loving home that will let her know she’s home forever 
Ava
Meet Ava, this beautiful girl is a Labrador Retriever Mix,
and weighs approx. sixty pounds.
She is one year old.

Ava- Sadly- Ava’s family surrendered her to the shelter down south when they were moving and couldn’t take her with them.
In an over crowded shelter this is almost certainly a death sentence.
But the shelter volunteers spoke up for this beautiful girl as she is so wonderful.
They advocated for her to find a transport up north where Ava will find the family she deserves and be loved.
They called us at RCF and of course we would love to welcome Ava here in Maine.
As you can see Ava is very friendly, knows some basic commands and is polite for treats.
She loves people and other dogs.
Ava love to play and run with her doggie friends.
She loves to go on long walks as well, especially with her own family.
Ava is an amazing girl who is looking for her forever loving family.
Goldilocks
Meet Goldilocks, this beautiful girl is a Labrador Retriever Mix and weighs approx. fifty pounds. She is eight Months old.

In rescue…. We here in Maine are the lucky ones.
We get to place these dogs into the very best loving homes.
But the stories we hear about the dogs we take in, will break your heart, and really take away your faith in humanity.
This is Goldilocks.
She was found in a dumpster, and how sad, she wasn’t the only dog dumped in there….
Worse than that.
Goldilocks was the only one to come out alive.
She had a horrendous beginning, and that’s all we needed to know about her to say yes- absolutely we’ll take her and find the family she deserves.
Goldilocks deserves a life and family so wonderful that she will never look back on her beginning.
Snow
Snow is about five years old and we believe her to be a Dalmatian mix.
She’s a big girl weighing in around sixty-five pounds.
This beauty is Snow.
Friends, meet Snow.
This gorgeous girl is here in Maine and is looking for her forever home.
Writing this post makes me cry a bit as we love her and she’s the perfect house guest but, in order to save more dogs, I need to leave space in my home to foster again.
Snow may be 65 pounds but she truly is a gentle giant.
She’s been great with all dogs she has met, is absolutely fine with my cat, and is great with my three year old daughter.
She has not had one accident in my home and is crate trained, although she doesn’t really need to be crated.
She walks well on leash and mainly likes to lounge although she does dance when excited and she offers her paw when she meets new people.
Snow’s ideal home would be with someone who works from home or is retired as she likes to go outside to potty every few hours (although she sleeps through the night with no need for a potty break).
Ideally her home would have at least one woman as she can be shy around men (she warms up quickly but women give her confidence).
She could go to a home with or without a dog but would prefer a lower energy companion and not a hyper, in her face type dog.
And while Snow has been amazing with my three year old and the neighbor’s kids, I think she would prefer a quieter home with older or no kids.
This girl so deserves to find a forever home where she will be loved and spoiled.

Happy is coming to Maine this month and she wants you to know that she is still available for adoption!
Her Texas foster says that she likes other dogs but also really enjoys snuggles and one-on-one time with her foster mom.
Happy loves toys, particularly chew and puzzle toys.
She loves to go for walks and snuggles and knows basic commands.
Her foster describes her as “a sparkle of joy”.

These gorgeous Catahoula mixes are almost five months old.

These two sweeties have had a rough start in life.
They were dumped on the side of the road, and then luckily brought to the local PD by a someone that saw them suffering.
When we heard about this, we got into action and in took them into our care.
Houdini and Blaine are very sweet dogs, they get along with other dogs and love their people.
We don’t know if they like cats yet.
They are both looking for their family here in Maine!

He also Loves children (but is big enough to knock over tiny ones with his love, so he would do better with kids twelve years and up)
He is curious about cats, but after meeting them he ignores them.
Cupid loves a good game of fetch but also equally loves a cozy couch to snuggle his people on.
He absolutely needs someone who is home much of the time or can take him along on their adventures.
Cupid does suffer from separation anxiety but we don’t blame him- he hasn’t had much stability in his short life

Friday, May 1st, 2020:
Charlie is at the Hospital fighting for his life.
He was fine, happy and playing last night. This morning he collapsed and was unable to stand or walk. We rushed him to the veterinarian who found that he was bleeding internally due to tumors on his spleen. Surgery is not recommended because the cancer has likely already spread. He is at the hospital now and they are trying to stabilize his blood pressure and get the bleeding to stop. If successful, we will bring him home later tonight and he will be on Yunnan Baiyao for the rest of his days. This is not a cure but it may give him a few more weeks or months of life. The veterinarian does not believe that he is in pain. We are sorry to say if his vitals won’t stabilize we will have to say good bye to Charlie. Please wish him well!
