Meet Charlie

Hi, I’m Charlie.

This dog rescue organization is named after me.

My sister and I were in cages, sleeping on a cold concrete floor and getting lousy food.  It was crowded and they had to make room because more dogs were coming.

If we hadn’t been rescued, things would not have ended well for us.

Some of my friends are in the same terrible situation and they need help.

Will you help me save my friends?

Let’s make sure they get a new life in a warm and loving home.

Save a life.  Adopt one of my friends.

Lets go!

Can you please hurry?

My friends are waiting!

Is it OK if I drive?

Charlie’s Dream – His own building
Charlie was an inspiration for all of us, humans and dogs. He saved hundreds of dogs and maybe some humans too in his years working with Rescue Charlie’s Friends. He saw all the dogs passing through and we think he knew he was doing something wonderful.

Charlie died on May 1st, 2020.  We miss him terribly.

Rescue Charlie’s Friends will live on in his memory and continue to rescue dogs. Charlie’s dream was to have his own building where he could receive the transports indoors out of the weather.  His dream has come true thanks to some very generous donations.

Scroll down to see the available dogs and puppies! Most are here now just waiting for you!

The Next Transport arrives on February 25th.

Our March Transports are on March 9th and the 16th.

McKINLEY

The most handsome guy you ever did see
MCKINLEY is a hoot.
We were told they thought he was almost 3 years old.
But he has many puppy mannerisms and so he may be a little younger- or it may be that he just missed out on so much appropriate development with a family of his own that he now finally gets to go through the motions of training and understanding his life with a family.
He has come so far in the short time with his fosters and they report to us that is an amazing dog.
He is all husky, and would do great with a strong dog savvy owner who will continue his training and socialization.
He is crate trained and potty trained.
He tends to get overstimulated and mouthy/jumpy, so would do best in a home with older children.
He already knows sit, come, stay, off for not jumping up, heel for leash walking but will pull when gets excited, and nice or gentle for taking treats.
He is not destructive, sleeps in his crate at night, and rides well in the car.
Being a husky this guy does have energy!
He would be a great running and or hiking partner!
He does well with submissive dogs after a slow intro, but would prefer a home without another dominant dog.
Let’s find this sweet guy a home ♥️
I am a super friendly guy and would love my new family to be active so we can go for long walks.
I also love car rides.
Will you be looking for a Good Boy?
That’s me!!

Hi there! I’m Tosca and this is my family.

I’m a little lab lady and these are my babies.

Some of my pups are a little fluffy or even have blue eyes so everyone’s guess is that daddy must’ve been a really handsome guy!

Our story is sad.

I survived long enough on my own to get to a shelter… but that’s not a comfortable place to have puppies… it was scary.. and loud… and we were on what they call a “code red list” because they were too full and out of space.

I’m not sure who Charlie is…. But I know he and his friends saved my whole family.

The babies are old enough now that we’re about to travel to Maine! Wherever that is.

To meet our new families. I’m still available for adoption too.

I love everyone and desperately want attention.

I even tried to snuggle a cat for love. She smacked me though 🙄 rude. Anyway.

Sorry my babies are a little covered in their dinner here in their pictures.

They get pretty excited about having a whole meal to themselves.

Can you help us find our forever families?!

Let’s meet Floki,
he is house trained and crate trained.
Floki plays with medium and big dogs of all breeds males and females.
He loves to play chase, run around and loves to wrestle.
Floki loves to play with anyone and everyone.
He knows his commands and would be an awesome hiking and/or running partner.
Floki is no couch potato and loves to go on adventures! Floki would love to have his own family with older children that could run and play with him.
He rides well in the car without any anxiety.
This guy is very smart and will learn quickly anything you want to teach him.
He has a beautiful coat, big floppy ears, and a great fun loving personality.
Would you like to run and love Floki?

Coconut, meet everyone!

This beautiful girl is so full of love to give!

We stopped in with the kids and our puppy and Coconut loved ALL of them!

She’s only about 11 months old and so of course she has some puppy energy and needs some reminders to stay down when she wants to give her love.

She’s just the most amazing girl! She would love another dog to play with!

She loves to snuggle and receive love but also has energy so would make a good running or hiking buddy.

This sweet girl so deserves the best life.

Can you imagine dumping a litter of puppies on the side of the road?
Tossed away like their lives don’t even matter?
Of course not, we can’t either.
But that’s exactly what happened to these sweet shepherd and Pyrenees mix puppies.
Luckily our rescue partners stepped in and made sure they were safe and fed and loved until they could be vetted and sent all the way to Maine to find their forever families.
These incredible sweet puppies are coming to Maine soon to find their furever homes.
Will that be you?

What people are saying

Everyone at Rescue Charlie’s Friends, we can’t thank you enough for all that you do with your amazing rescue! Our new addition Clara (aka Azure) is loving her new life here in Lincolnville and her new friend Trigger is in love.

Thank you again for all of your hard work!

I adopted a puppy from Rescue Charlie’s Friends on June 2, 2018 named August. My thirteen year old dog had passed away the month before.

I renamed him. Bud Lite. Bud because he is my Buddy and Lite because he is the Lite of my life.

I am some what of a hermit, but Buddy gets me out walking everyday. We have met many wonderful people and other dogs on our walks.

He means everything to me.

PLEASE keep up the good work you are doing both for the dogs and the families that are fortunate enough to adopt them.
