Will you help rescue his friends?
Hi, I’m Charlie.
This dog rescue organization is named after me.
My sister and I were in cages, sleeping on a cold concrete floor and getting lousy food. It was crowded and they had to make room because more dogs were coming.
If we hadn’t been rescued, things would not have ended well for us.
Some of my friends are in the same terrible situation and they need help.
Will you help me save my friends?
Let’s make sure they get a new life in a warm and loving home.
Save a life. Adopt one of my friends.
Lets go!
Can you please hurry?
My friends are waiting!
Is it OK if I drive?

Charlie’s Dream – His own building
Charlie was an inspiration for all of us, humans and dogs. He saved hundreds of dogs and maybe some humans too in his years working with Rescue Charlie’s Friends. He saw all the dogs passing through and we think he knew he was doing something wonderful.
Charlie died on May 1st, 2020. We miss him terribly.
Rescue Charlie’s Friends will live on in his memory and continue to rescue dogs. Charlie’s dream was to have his own building where he could receive the transports indoors out of the weather. His dream has come true thanks to some very generous donations.
Charlie with help from our wonderful volunteers, sponsors and donors is rescuing lots of his friends. Even more this year than last year. Wow!

Petey is a male Bulldog mix. He is five months old and weighs forty to forty-five pounds.
Hi, my name is Petey. Everybody is talking about a dog named “Charlie” that rescues his friends and gets them adopted. They said he would bring me to Maine and that someone would adopt me.
That is what I want more than anything. If you will adopt me I promise I will do everything I can to make you proud of me and glad that you made me a part of your family.
I mean it. Please let me love you.
Houston is a male Pyrenees . He is four years old and weighs eighty five pounds.
I’m Houston. I love people and kids. I really don’t want another dog living in my house. After all, It’s my house. Now, I’m OK with them when we are walking around outside but I’d rather they stay outside.
But people? I love people!
Will you adopt me? We can have a great life together, OK?
Bandit is a male Labrador mix. He is three or four years old and weighs fifty pounds
They only took one picture of me and this is it. either they think I am so incredibly handsome that I don’t need good, sharp, clear pictures to get adopted or they think I am not worth even trying. Which is it?
Either way, here is what they didn’t tell you. I am very sweet. Yes, I mean sweet even if that makes me sound a little girly. I’m great with kids and other dogs too.
Truth is though, I don’t like cats much ever since they told me they were not meant for chasing. One more thing: I’m already housebroken.
So back to my original question: Do I get only one picture and a fuzzy one at that because I’m really good or because I’m a lost cause?
Winston and Koa are Hound / shepherd mixs. They are seven months old and weigh about forty pounds.
I’m not sure what “Adopted” really means. They say it means that I will be part of a family and they will love me almost as much as I love them. Is that true? Then I want to be adopted more that anything ever!
So Winston and I will be coming to Maine soon and we both want the same thing – we sant to be adopted.
Any chance you might adopt me? If not me, how about Winston?
Miso, tofu and Dumpling are three months old Bulldog mixes and weigh ten to twelve pounds.
Miso and Tofu are females and Dumpling is a male.
What? Did I do something wrong?
Are you going to adopt one of us? Will you adopt me? I think I deserve it. Not that they don’t, its just that I think I should get preferential treatment. Don’t you?
So will you be adopting me? Ask for “Miso”. That’s me, OK?
Talking to me? You talking to me? I’m resting. You got a problem wid dat?
Smooches is a male Pit mix. He is sixteen weeks old and weighs twenty pounds.
Hey, guess what? I’m catching on to this thing about housebreaking. I don’t know why they make such a big deal out of it, but it seems to be important to them and that makes it important to me too.
So anyway, I’m easy to get along with. I love everyone – adults, kids, I love them all. I’m good with dogs too.
So now that you know all that, will you adopt me?
Andre is a male, Serina and Martina are females. They are one year old Terrier mixes and weigh fifteen to twenty pounds.
They said they would come by and take some better pictures of us today, but I haven’t seen them so far.
Do you think we can get adopted with these pictures? I sure hope so.
Double Trouble are English Pointer mixes. They are seven weeks old and weigh about five pounds.
I’m Double. I apologize for this fuzzy photo. I don’t know much about cameras but I know a fuzzy photo when I see one and I know that fuzzy photos won’t help me get adopted.
I asked them to come back and take a better picture but I might as well have barked at the moon.
Oh well, will you adopt me anyway?
Howdy, I’m Trouble. Not really, that’s just my name. Really. I couldn’t make that up.
The thing is, I really want to be adopted. We can keep that name or we can pick a new one.
What sort of name would you like? Robert? Fido? Simon?
Tell you what – let’s just keep my name.
I like being called Trouble.
Allen and Alyssa are four to six month old Kelpie / Catahoula mixes. Allen is a male and Alyssa is a female.
Celeste is a female Norwegian Buhund mix. She is four to six months old.
Hi, I’m Allen. I’ll be coming to Maine soon with my sisters Alyssa and Celeste.
I worry about them. Our life so far has not been great. I want them to have families of their own where they can live and have a wonderful life. They deserve it.
Will you be adopting one of them? Which one will you choose?
I’m hoping to be adopted too.
Just to let you know, I have some admirable talents. I once changed the channel on the TV by biting the remote. Show me a puppy who can do THAT!
That’s not all. I can turn a roll of paper towels into confetti quicker than you can pick up the pieces. Wanna see?
So please adopt me. I will be the best friend you ever had if you will just adopt me. Will you?
Katniss and Prim are Shepherd mixes. They are four to six months old and weigh fifteen to twenty pounds.
My name is Katniss and I’m hoping someone will adopt me. I love everybody and I love to play. Can we go for a ride in your car?
Hi, I’m Prim. Are you the person who will adopt me? I think you will be perfect for me and I will be perfect for you!
Goofball is a male Heeler mix. He is one year old and weighs forty to forty-five pounds.
They call me Goofball. I don’t really know why, but I go along with it.
I’m great with cats and dogs and everyone I meet. I’m housebroken too. Besides all that, I am very sweet, I love to play but I am also very calm.
Can it get any better? I will be the best dog you ever saw!
Joey is a male Labrador mix. He is four to six months old and weighs fifteen to twenty pounds.
Hi, I’m Joey. I’m going to do my absolute best to do everything you want me to do. I can learn really quick if you will just teach me.
I want to learn everything. First I want to learn to be housebroken. Then do you think I could go to door opening school or maybe even tree climbing school? I would really love that.
Patches is a female Terrier mix. She was found with a bad eye which will soon be removed. We will have more pictures of her after the surgery is completed.
Hello, my name is Patches. I was tossed out of a moving car and wondered all around until some people rescued me. They say that Charlie will bring me to Maine and I will get adopted.
I have a bad eye, as you can see in the pictures. By the time you read this the doctors will have removed it. I will still have one good eye, so I won’t have any problem getting around.
I love everyone and I’m good with other dogs too. I’m just hoping that someone will love me back. I have one eye gone. Will someone love me anyway?
Denny is a male Beagle mix. He is twelve weeks old.
I had a family once but only for a little while. They took me to a Flea Market and just left me there. They didn’t even buy any fleas for me, not that I actually wanted any.
They just left me there. I cried (yes, I admit it) for a long time and then some people saved me. They said that Charlie would bring me to Maine and I would get adopted. Is that true? Will you adopt me?
Yankee Doodle is a male Labrador mix. He is two or three years old and weighs sixty pounds.
Howdy! They call me Yankee Doodle. I don’t know why, but I suppose it’s because that’s my name.
I am about the sweetest, nicest dog you will ever meet.
I would love some attention from you. In fact I will love you forever if you will just adopt me!
I’m catching on to the housebreaking thing. I’m learning about it a little late in life because I was always just left outside. I’m liking it inside a lot better.
You look like a really nice person. I’m hoping to be adopted by a nice person who will let me come inside the house.
Do you have a family? Can I be a part of your family? I love everyone and I would love nothing more than to be a part of your family.
Are you the one who will adopt me? I hope so.
Soda Pop is a Dachshund mix. she is two to three years old and weighs ten to fifteen pounds.
Soda Pop is the mom of four gorgeous puppies!
Hi, I’m Soda Pop. I’m very sweet and not snappy at all. I’m good with other dogs and kids and people too. Plus I’m already housebroken.
Want to see my puppies? Just scroll down. Aren’t they gorgeous?
Soda Pop’s puppies are five weeks old in the pictures. They are Border Collie / Dachshund mixes and weigh just two pounds. Two boys and two girls.
I’m Mountain Dew and I’m a girl. Am I cute enough? Will you adopt me?
I’m a girl too. What about me? Am I cute enough? Will you adopt me? I’m Dr Pepper.
Hello everyone! My name is Pepsi and I just want to be adopted. Will you adopt me?
My name is Coca Cola. I’m not sure whether I’m the cutest but I can guarantee that i will love you forever if you will adopt me. OK?
Trapper and Tilly are one and a half year old Hound mixes. they weigh forty to forty five pounds.
Trapper is a male and Tilly is a female.
Hi, I’m Tilly. I’m great with kids and dogs and just everyone! I’m housebroken and very sweet. I love to play.
Will you adopt me?
My name is Trapper. I’m great with kids and dogs. I love people! I’m housebroken too, so no worries there!
Will you adopt me?
Sugar, Pepper and Spice are Springer Spaniel mixes and weigh forty five to fifty pounds.
They were found together, but they are not siblings and do not need to be adopted together.
Sugar and Pepper are about one year old and are both females. Spice is one to two years old and is a male.
Hi, My name is Sugar. I’m a girl and I’m very sweet but a little shy at first. I need to learn how to walk on a leash. I want to be petted. I’m good with other dogs and with people. I’m housebroken too.
Hi, I’m Pepper. I will be the best girl you have ever known. I love people and kids and even other dogs. I’m already housebroken so we don’t need to worry about that!
Hi, My name is Spice and I’m a boy.
I’m a little hyper at first but I’m very sweet. I just want to be petted. I’m great with dogs and other people. Plus I’m already hosebroken!
Sugar and Pepper and I all want the same thing. We just want a family of our own to love and to love us.
Will you adopt one of us? Please?
Hershey is a Labrador / Husky mix. He is five months old and the brother of Piggy. Hershey is a boy and Piggy is a girl.
His dad is a Labrador Retriever and his mom is a Siberian Husky.
Yeah, my sister is getting a complex or something because of her name. She thinks “Piggy” isn’t the best name for her.
I hope you will adopt her and give her a new name.
I hope you will adopt me too. I’m already here in Maine just waiting for you. Adopt me, OK?
p.s. I’m fine with my name.
Max is a one year old Catahoula / Labrador mix. He weighs forty five pounds.
Howdy, I’m Max.
I’m really sweet and I’m good with other dogs and kids too.
I still have energy and I just love to play.
Do you have any balls you can throw for me? That is always fun. I hope you will adopt me so we can have fun together.
Do you have a car? Can we go for a ride?
Cheezit is a male Hound / Beagle mix. He is two years old and weighs forty five to fifty pounds.
Hi, I’m Cheezit. I don’t know why they don’t want me anymore. I didn’t do anything wrong, unless you count the remote control I ate, but that was a long time ago. Or maybe it’s because I don’t like cats. I, for sure, should not be in a home with cats.
I’m OK with some dogs but not others. I’m a little selective about who my friends are. Maybe it would be better if I was with a family that doesn’t have any other dogs.
Did I mention cats? Can’t stand the little critters.
Anyway, they left me here at the shelter and it looks like they aren’t coming back. So I’ve been pretty sad about that but they tell me that Charlie will help me find a new family to love. This time I hope they love me too.
I love people and I will love you. If you adopt me I will be the best friend you ever had. I will love you forever and ever.
So how about it – will you adopt me?
The Adventure Group are Lab / Bulldog mixes, four months old and weigh about twenty five pounds
Sophia is a female Labrador mix. She is four and a half years old and weighs sixty pounds.
Hello, I’m Sophia. I’m a really chill dog. I’m good with people and I love kids. I don’t like cats and I prefer not to have other dogs around because I want all the attention. I just want to lay around and have fun.
Q-Tip is a female Pyrenees. She is four months old and weighs twenty five to thirty pounds.
Seriously? You send me out to play in the mud and THEN you take my picture? What are you thinking? I look like a mud ball.
How am I going to get adopted looking like this?
Will you please come back when I’m clean and take another picture?
Hi, I’m Q-Tip. I know I’m a little muddy but I can be the best friend you ever had. I love people and I’m going to love you.
Will you adopt me? The mud washes off and then I’ll look beautiful. Just wait, you’ll see!
Rock is a Labrador / Bulldog mix. He is five years old and weighs fifty pounds.
Guess What! Good News! My heartworm treatment was completed and I tested negative.
That means I can come to Maine and get adopted!
Will you adopt me? Please? I’ve waited soooo long for this, please don’t make me wait any longer!
Hello, I’m hoping you will adopt me. My name is Rock and I am good with people and kids. I’m good with smaller dogs too. I’m just a good dog and I want really bad to get adopted!
Tucker is a male Labrador mix. Tucker is one and a half years old and weighs sixty five pounds.
Now I ask you, how am I going to get adopted with pictures like this? All the other dogs get to have pictures that show them off. Me? Not so much. I don’t mean to whine about it but I know that getting adopted is a competition and having lousy pictures puts me at a disadvantage.
Anyway, enough complaining. I will make the best of it and I bet I get adopted anyway.
Why? Because I am a great dog.
Hi, It’s me again, Tucker.
Do you want a great dog? Then adopt me. I love people and kids. I’m a little selective about which dogs I like and I prefer small dogs over big ones.
I’m already housebroken and I can even do a few commands, like “Sit”
I promise I will love you and you will love me too. If you want the best friend you ever had, then pick me. OK?
Peewee is a male Chiweenie. He was ten weeks old in the picture (taken in April) and weighs three to five pounds.

Am I cute enough? Will you adopt me?
All the months of the year for you to choose from. Three boys and nine girls!
They are Chihuahua mixes. They are six weeks old in the pictures and weigh about two pounds.
I’ve been listening to older dogs with more experience. They have been telling me that you have to be really really cute to get adopted. Is that true? How do I know if I’m cute enough?
I tell my sisters, don’t worry about being the cutest. You will get adopted even if you are not the cutest.
Instead, concentrate on being the best little puppy you can be and grow up to be the best, most loving friend your new family has ever known.
Which one of us girls is the cutest? Is it me? I sure hope so because I want to be adopted!
Brothers and Sisters listen up! You want to be adopted and have them love you? Focus on learning about this housebreaking thing. I hear that is really important to people.
Nine, count ’em nine sisters! Each one of them thinks she is my boss. Who would wish that on any guy?
Snow is a female Shepherd / Husky mix. She is one year old and weighs fifty pounds.
They call me Snow. I think I got that name because I look like snow. I was tied up on a chain for most of the last year. I was very sad because I really love people and like to be around them. Tough to do when you are chained up.
But I did learn to be housebroken so you don’t need to worry about that. Also, I am very sweet and loving. Adopt me and you will see!
Davy is a male Hound mix. He is three or four months old and weighs fifteen pounds.
If I look at you with my sad eyes will it make you want to adopt me?
My name is Davy. I’m coming to Maine soon and I hope you will adopt me. Will you? Please?

I adopted a puppy from Rescue Charlie’s Friends on June 2, 2018 named August. My thirteen year old dog had passed away the month before.
I renamed him. Bud Lite. Bud because he is my Buddy and Lite because he is the Lite of my life.
I am some what of a hermit, but Buddy gets me out walking everyday. We have met many wonderful people and other dogs on our walks.
He means everything to me.
PLEASE keep up the good work you are doing both for the dogs and the families that are fortunate enough to adopt them.
