Meet Charlie

Hi, I’m Charlie.

This dog rescue organization is named after me.

My sister and I were in cages, sleeping on a cold concrete floor and getting lousy food.  It was crowded and they had to make room because more dogs were coming.

If we hadn’t been rescued, things would not have ended well for us.

Some of my friends are in the same terrible situation and they need help.

Will you help me save my friends?

Let’s make sure they get a new life in a warm and loving home.

Save a life.  Adopt one of my friends.

Lets go!

Can you please hurry?

My friends are waiting!

Is it OK if I drive?

Charlie’s Dream – His own building
Charlie was an inspiration for all of us, humans and dogs. He saved hundreds of dogs and maybe some humans too in his years working with Rescue Charlie’s Friends. He saw all the dogs passing through and we think he knew he was doing something wonderful.

Charlie died on May 1st, 2020.  We miss him terribly.

Rescue Charlie’s Friends will live on in his memory and continue to rescue dogs. Charlie’s dream was to have his own building where he could receive the transports indoors out of the weather.  His dream has come true thanks to some very generous donations.

Scroll down to see the available dogs and puppies! Most are here now just waiting for you!

The Next Transport arrives on Saturday February 22nd.

Meet the Watch Crew.

Like so many of the dogs we rescue, these four siblings had a very sad and rough start as well.

They were dumped on an abandoned property in a rural area.

Even though they have never lived in a house with a loving family, They are the sweetest pups.

They love to give kisses and cuddle up with you.

We’re not entirely sure what breeds make these sweeties who they are but it’s beautiful!

They will be coming to Maine soon.

Let’s show them that Life is good here in Maine.

They are all looking for their loving Families.

Doc

Doc is an amazing one year old Australian Cattle dog.

Meet the amazing Doc,

Super Intelligent and handsome, all in one package!

Doc is an Australian cattle dog mix who is here in Maine in foster care.

His foster says: “I totally adore him. He is smart, quirky and fast!
He’s super cute and very thoughtful”.

Doc is good with dogs and kids, although we recommend older kids as he is a heeler with some herding tendencies.

He is good with the cat in his foster home, although his foster feline does not run- his foster believes he may chase a cat if it runs.

He is very intelligent and knows many commands, including “no” and “leave it”.
We recommend Doc goes to a home with a playful dog, as he seems to really enjoy the dogs in his foster home.

Doc loves to play fetch and will require a family that will give him daily exercise and stimulation although his foster says that he is chill in the house after he is properly exercised.

Overall, Doc is such an amazing  sweet boy!!

This wonderful Boy is starting the search for his new forever family!

Hi Everyone, here is Tuffy

This guy is pretty amazing!

Tuffy is friendly, outgoing, and sweet.

He loves people and he loves other dogs!
Tuffy also loves to play with his furry friends and go on walks with his humans.

Tuffy looks like a fuzzy teddy bear, which is great as he loves to snuggle.

He is the whole package. Just a good and awesome boy!

Pipper

This sweet girl is Pipper.

She is an eight month old Shepherd mix.

Hi Y’all, I am Pipper

Let me introduce myself: I am a gorgeous little girl if I may say so.

I am a sweet girl, and I am so lucky Charlie rescued me from the shelter.

Of course I have energy, but I am not hyper.

Just like most dogs I love a good snuggling too.

I love learning new things and go on adventures.

I am very excited to go on the trip up North and meet my new family.

Will that be you?

Here is Amber!

Amber is an amazing one-year-old Retriever mix.

Her fosters have nothing but great things to say about her.

She’s potty trained, dog friendly, people friendly, good with kids although Amber may prefer older kids, as she tends to distance herself from louder noises and commotion.

Amber is not currently living with cats but seems to ignore cats when she meets them on a walk.

She has great manners in the house and would like a family that would give her daily walks and exercise.

Amber is here in Maine and available for meet and greets with an approved adopter.

Amber is a beautiful sweet girl who is looking for her forever loving family.

What people are saying

Everyone at Rescue Charlie’s Friends, we can’t thank you enough for all that you do with your amazing rescue! Our new addition Clara (aka Azure) is loving her new life here in Lincolnville and her new friend Trigger is in love.

Thank you again for all of your hard work!

I adopted a puppy from Rescue Charlie’s Friends on June 2, 2018 named August. My thirteen year old dog had passed away the month before.

I renamed him. Bud Lite. Bud because he is my Buddy and Lite because he is the Lite of my life.

I am some what of a hermit, but Buddy gets me out walking everyday. We have met many wonderful people and other dogs on our walks.

He means everything to me.

PLEASE keep up the good work you are doing both for the dogs and the families that are fortunate enough to adopt them.
