Meet Charlie

Hi, I’m Charlie.

This dog rescue organization is named after me.

My sister and I were in cages, sleeping on a cold concrete floor and getting lousy food.  It was crowded and they had to make room because more dogs were coming.

If we hadn’t been rescued, things would not have ended well for us.

Some of my friends are in the same terrible situation and they need help.

Will you help me save my friends?

Let’s make sure they get a new life in a warm and loving home.

Save a life.  Adopt one of my friends.

Lets go!

Can you please hurry?

My friends are waiting!

Is it OK if I drive?

Charlie’s Dream – His own building
Charlie was an inspiration for all of us, humans and dogs. He saved hundreds of dogs and maybe some humans too in his years working with Rescue Charlie’s Friends. He saw all the dogs passing through and we think he knew he was doing something wonderful.

Charlie died on May 1st, 2020.  We miss him terribly.

Rescue Charlie’s Friends will live on in his memory and continue to rescue dogs. Charlie’s dream was to have his own building where he could receive the transports indoors out of the weather.  His dream has come true thanks to some very generous donations.

Scroll down to see the available dogs and puppies! Most are here now just waiting for you!

The Next Transport arrives on Saturday June 14th

Hi everyone please meet this beautiful gentle giant Ice

This sweet baby is such an incredible sweet and loving girl, just the perfect dog.

Ice loves to be outside, and like any Great pyrenees they like to roam or just lay outside on the deck.

She is very sweet and loves to cuddle but also needs patience as she can be shy in the beginning.

Ice is good with cats and older kids.

She loves to go on adventures with her humans too!

Ice is a pretty great, awesome and a smart dog!

Would you like to adopt her?

Here is Darling!

Sweet Darling ❤️ .

Her foster says:” She’s as close to a perfect pet as you could find. Sweet, submissive, playful, gentle, and she loves to be with her humans.

Also Darling is house trained, as long as she gets regular opportunities each day to go out.

She’s catching on to leash walking like a pro, and is learning the joys of using her nose on walks in the woods.

So far Darling is shy of other dogs, but we think she will warm up as her confidence increases.

She has occasional zoomies and is also learning about toys.

Watching her sprint and leap is adorable.

She is a beautiful sweet girl who is looking for her forever loving family.

What people are saying

Everyone at Rescue Charlie’s Friends, we can’t thank you enough for all that you do with your amazing rescue! Our new addition Clara (aka Azure) is loving her new life here in Lincolnville and her new friend Trigger is in love.

Thank you again for all of your hard work!

I adopted a puppy from Rescue Charlie’s Friends on June 2, 2018 named August. My thirteen year old dog had passed away the month before.

I renamed him. Bud Lite. Bud because he is my Buddy and Lite because he is the Lite of my life.

I am some what of a hermit, but Buddy gets me out walking everyday. We have met many wonderful people and other dogs on our walks.

He means everything to me.

PLEASE keep up the good work you are doing both for the dogs and the families that are fortunate enough to adopt them.
